  • Aerial Lineman

    A successful Aerial Line Person (Aerial Construction Lineman) shall access specific areas to install, maintain, and/or repair a customer's telecommunications equipment. At a minimum, the position requires a good working knowledge of telecommunications construction; familiarity with aerial lift devices, utility lines and poles, and the functionality of each; ability to use cable placement equipment and tools; ability to identify and troubleshoot problems.

     

    Essential Functions:

    • The ability to work safely, with or without supervision
    • The ability to work standing, at shoulder height and overhead, for extended periods
    • The ability to lift and manipulate lasher and other cable placement equipment
    • The ability to work aloft, either from a ladder, aerial lift device, or by gaffing
    • Excellent manual dexterity
    • The ability to follow instructions and communicate verbally and in writing
    • ability to operate a bucket truck
    • The ability to operate equipment, including but not limited to: an aerial lift device, lasher, and hand tools, and understanding the functioning thereof

    Other Duties:

    • Completion of low level and high level labor-intensive tasks as well as operation of assigned construction equipment
    • Completion of daily production reports to document work performed
    • Use of hand tools, ladders, and equipment to assist in the completion of an assigned project
    • Clean and maintain supplies, tools, equipment, and work areas in order to ensure compliance with safety regulations

  • Drill Operator

    The Drill Operator will be responsible for directional drilling, locating, reading prints, and driving. Operators may perform a variety of tasks requiring the use of hand and power tools and motorized equipment.


    Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Operate directional boring rig and/or locating equipment as required
    • Work with the operator to locate utilities during the boring process
    • Complete a daily inspection on bore or potholing equipment
    • Verify dig permits
    • Assist with filling water tanks with water and adding chemicals when appropriate
    • Locating the bore head and successfully to avoid hitting any utilities
    • Hook up proper equipment such as a reamer to complete bore shots
    • Clean and prepare construction sites to eliminate hazards
    • Operating a motor vehicle, regulated under the DOT with proper licensing

    Minimum Qualifications

    • High School Diploma or equivalent
    • Two (2) years or more experience as a directional driller and locating equipment
    • CDL Class A license with tanker endorsement

    • Prefer three (3) years of experience operating/locating

  • Fiber Splicer

    The Fiber Optic Cable Tech plays a vital role in ensuring quality and timely deliveries of our fiber services along with additional services to customers. Skilled in fiber optic splicing with an understanding of engineering and splicing drawings. This person will have project management skills, the ability to work independently, knowledge of construction practices for outside plant cable placement, sufficient experience with computers, and have a background in fiber optic splicing documentation practices. The position requires telecommunications experience and the ability to travel between Washington and Oregon.


    Duties and Responsibilities: 

    • Constructs proper splice cases pressurized and non-pressurized, using all types and sizes of cable, including but not limited to: grounding, bonding, isolation, slack storage, and sealing
    • Work with Construction Project Managers and/or OSP Engineers to perform splicing as directed
    • Testing and troubleshooting fiber using an OTDR, optical power meter, fiber identifier, and scope
    • Provide the OSP Engineers with detailed reports of field splicing activity 
    • Work flexible hours: after-hours work, which would include nights and weekends 
    • Strong communication skills are absolutely essential, as is a cooperative attitude toward coworkers and third-party vendors
    • Maintain a positive attitude and strong work ethic that can provide high productivity with minimal supervision
    • On-call rotation responding to and restoring services for emergency calls; responsible for being on the job at short notice to repair damaged cables until service is restored
    • Reviews and interprets underground and aerial cable records in existing records, on maps, or in the field
    • Makes precise recommendations for changes in running fiber optic cables, or provides input into construction methodologies 
    • Participates in engineering, permit, and construction processes 
    • Perform all work as necessary to conform to quality control guidelines (includes compliance with requirements outlined in applicable regulations such as OSHA, FCC, NESC and NEC, etc.; as well as following procedures as outlined in the Installation, Technical, Operations, and Safety Manuals, and Employee Handbook) 
    • Clean, maintain, stock, and secure assigned vehicle and equipment 
    • Perform other duties as requested by supervisor

    Qualifications and Work Environment: 

    • Ability to adhere to local regulations, federal regulations, and company policies 
    • Proficient with construction equipment, hand tools, fusion splicer, OTDR, fiber identifiers, and scope 
    • Ability to carry, climb, and operate extension ladder (approx. 28 ft. high and 75 pounds)

  • Foreman

    We are looking for a knowledgeable, experienced construction Foreman to coordinate operations and oversee workers at our numerous construction sites. As the liaison between workers and supervisors, the foreman will be the key person in charge of overseeing the completion of the project with a keen awareness of material expenses, permits, and employee safety.   • General Laborer

    We are seeking a skilled, reliable General Laborer to join our growing company. In this position, you will be responsible for assisting contractors, operating heavy machinery, and following all site health and safety regulations. Strong work ethic and attention to detail are essential.


    Duties and Responsibilities

  • Heavy Equipment Operator

    Heavy equipment refers to the set of machines or vehicles which is used for the purpose of construction, engineering, or digging earth. Because of its big size, heavy weight, and critical operating methods, handling and operating such equipment require specialized skills. Trucks, bulldozers, cranes, snow blowers, excavators, compactors, etc., are such equipment to name a few. Heavy Equipment Operator responsibilities are carried out by a skilled person who does this job with safety and precision. He/she also has the responsibility of cleaning, maintaining, and servicing the equipment periodically to increase its life. Heavy Equipment Operators may work for construction companies, engineering companies, mining, or heavy utility organizations.


    Operating and maintaining all heavy equipment requires a lot of experience, training, and knowledge of machines and their parts. Such an operator must possess mechanical skills to perform his/her job in a strenuous and dangerous work environment. To become a Heavy Equipment Operator, one must have these skills and should be completely trained to perform the job duties.


    Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Provide support to successful completion of construction and engineering work
    • Operate all heavy equipment like cranes, earthmovers, bulldozers, front-end loaders, and other related equipment
    • Operate the equipment in the right direction and angles to prevent accidents and damage to property
    • Ensure and manage the machines or equipment in a safe and secure way
    • Perform periodical safety, maintenance, or servicing checks to ensure the proper functioning of the equipment
    • Perform minor repair works during functioning problems
    • Inform and advise the management or repairmen for major repairs or maintenance

    • Perform road work, excavation work, lifting work, etc.
    • Respond to signals and directions by the staff and work in coordination with them
    • Maintain proper coordination and cooperation with the road and transport system while driving/working, so that the normal activities are not disrupted
    • Operate the equipment manually and also through the use of electronic or technical methods of operation
    • Work in adherence to safe practices, procedures, worksite or traffic laws
    • Maintain a database in the computer to record daily activities, inventory charts, etc.

    A Heavy Equipment Operator must possess the knowledge to perform his/her job satisfactorily. The essential criteria must include the knowledge of:

    Must have a driver's license to work on the equipment. A few states in the US offer a special license to these professionals for specific equipment like loaders, cranes, and bulldozers.


    Working Conditions:

    Heavy Equipment Operators work irregular or odd hours in outdoor work sites. The work hours depend on the weather condition. In good weather, an operator may work for over 15 hours a day. The work schedule also includes overnight and weekend hours.


    They are also exposed to a work environment that comprises heat, cold, dust, rain, pollution, and a toxic atmosphere. Thus, they need to protect themselves and take necessary precautions.


    The most important criteria are to have a strong physical ability and strength to carry out the daily strenuous activities.

    Inspectors plan, manage and monitor operational policing activity. They effectively and efficiently direct the deployment of resources to incidents, including critical incidents.

    • White lining purposed running line, wheel/measuring routes with an assigned measuring wheel—minor repairs, such as sprinkler, drip lines, and minor landscaping.

    The duties of a supervisor require a thorough knowledge of the tools, techniques, and materials used for the project.


    • High school diploma or GED required
    • Minimum of five years in the construction industry, with some leadership experience

    • Responsible for the day-to-day management of policing activity in their area
    • To ensure that staff are able to provide effective service and manage risk in line with the policing priorities 
    • Ensure that both they and their staff are appropriately informed
    • Monitoring performance 
    • Making recommendations for improvement
    • Educating all staff on safety
    • Ensure that projects stay within budget and that required materials and equipment are available
    • Setting goals for performance and deadlines in ways that comply with the company's plans and vision
    • Organizing workflow and ensuring that employees/contractors understand their duties or delegated tasks
    • Monitoring employee productivity and providing constructive feedback and coaching
    • Interact with a wide range of people, from suppliers and deliverymen to venture capitalists and property owners
    • Perform various hands-on tasks, including keeping materials organized on job sites
    • Traffic control (TCP) if needed or required
    • Cleaning job sites as well as making sure employees/contractors are keeping clean as well
    • Building and maintaining temporary support structures
    • Supervise sub-contractors by selecting and evaluating them as well as monitoring and controlling their performance
    • Travel to and supervise multiple sites during the course of a day
    • Maintain a healthy and safe work environment

    Additional responsibilities may be assigned from time to time as required to maintain accurate, complete customer care and company efficiency.
